The Twitter diaspora is neither large nor unified

I’ve tried to like Mastodon, but I just can’t. It seems like a great place to go if you want to talk about how great Mastodon or the “fediverse” (ugh) is. For anything else, not so much. The nerds like it though.
Maybe a lot of folks are getting "burned out" on social media? I lost interest way back when
the AOL Chatrooms "devolved", then AIM left, Yahoo Messenger, Windows Messenger, Excite PAL,
etc. Never did sign up for Twitter or Facebook, though a few family members are always asking
me to join, or ask why I'm not interested.
